From pixels to paper.

Three steps from the feed you already read to a bound volume in your hands. Once you connect your sources, everything is automatic.

Steps

01

Connect Your Sources

Add your Substack accounts, RSS feeds, and newsletter subscriptions. If you're like us, you'll have a long list to pick from and you'll be eager to get offline.

We Typeset Your Issue

Every essay is composed for the printed page: proper columns, photos rendered, and endnotes for every URL. How do we do it? Alchemy, mostly.

Printed & Perfect-Bound

Your personal issue is printed on quality stock, perfectly bound, and handed off to a global network of delivery elves. It sounds like Christmas to me.

Binding Detail

What we hear most often.

Do I need a Substack account?
No. We support Substack, RSS, and most independent newsletter platforms. If you can read it on the web, we can typeset it.
What if I subscribe to twenty newsletters?
You set the filters; we handle the curation, choosing the right essays to fit your page limit. Bump the limit from your account settings whenever you want more pages per issue.
Can I include essays from outside my subscriptions?
Yes. Paste a URL and we'll include it in the next issue, subject to length and licensing. Reply cards are also welcome.
How is this different from saving things to read later?
Read-it-later apps still live on a screen. Your phone still buzzes. The point of The Hard Copy is to remove the screen entirely — once an issue is in your hands, the internet is out of the room.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. No annual contracts. Cancel from your account or by reply card.
