We Typeset Your Issue

Every essay is composed for the printed page: proper columns, photos rendered, and endnotes for every URL. How do we do it? Alchemy, mostly.

Printed & Perfect-Bound

Your personal issue is printed on quality stock, perfectly bound, and handed off to a global network of delivery elves. It sounds like Christmas to me.

Binding Detail

What we hear most often.

Do I need a Substack account?
Nope! Any RSS feed, and most independent newsletter platforms will work. If you can read it on the web, we can send it to you in a Hard Copy. Just paste the URL of the feed into your dashboard.
What if I subscribe to twenty newsletters?
We can handle up to 700 pages of content a month. If you can read that much in one month, we might just send you a prize.
Can I include URLs from sources I don't pay for?
Yes, you can include any URL. If there is a paywall, however, it will also be cut off in your Hard Copy. Any sources that you pay for needs to have your account connected to ensure the entire essay is printed.
How is this different from saving things to read later?
Read-it-later apps still live on a screen, where we all tend to get distracted. The ethos of Hard Copy is to remove the screen entirely: set it up once and never read on the internet again.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, there are no contracts or commitments. Cancel anytime in your dashboard.
